Nathaniel Watkins

Nathaniel Watkins Jr., 79, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025. He was born November 29, 1945, in Henry County to the late Nathaniel Watkins Sr. and Ruth Draper Watkins.Nathaniel loved to go fishing in his free time. He enjoyed cutting the grass and he was a hard worker. Nathaniel loved his family and friends dearly.He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Craig Watkins; sons, Derick Watkins, Karene Craig, Willie Turner Jr., and Nathaniel Watkins III (Cherika); sisters, Margaret Milliner (Jim), Catherine Carter, and Arnette Burnette; brothers, Albert Watkins (Bret), Dwight Watkins (Becky), and Carl Watkins (Renee); six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.The funeral will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Bishop Frank Toney officiating. Interment will follow at Fair Haven Memorial Park. A visitation will be held one half hour prior to the service. A floating visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 5:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service.Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
