Nicholas Taylor Nicholas “Nickel” Wayne Taylor, 38 of Narrows, VA., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at VCU Medical Center in Richmond, VA. Nickel was born on February 14, 1987, in Blacksburg, VA., and was a son of Mark Anthony Taylor and Judy Maxine Wright Taylor of Narrows. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Orville R. Taylor, Sr. and Sarah Caldwell Taylor of Narrows, and maternal grandparents, Luther and Anna Wright of Greenville, WV.
Nicholas graduated from Narrows High School in 2005. He attended New River Community College and Concord University, graduating with a B.A in Education and History. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Narrows, where he was baptized. He was also a member of Intermont Lodge #269 serving as Worshipful Master in 2012 and 2013, and was a member of the Pearisburg Royal Arch Chapter #29. Nicholas loved spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews. He loved the outdoors and going to the cabin and beach house. He was a Greenwave through and through, lettering in football and soccer. He excelled at weightlifting, achieving many goals. He loved the Hokies and attended all home games for many years. In addition, he traveled to four bowl games. He loved Metallica before they were popular, travelling the east coast to attend at least 5 of their concerts. He loved the Dallas Cowboys from the time he was little boy, thus beginning his love of football. As a funny note, he was once standing in line to attend a concert, when he was approached by security guards. They wanted to escort him inside thinking he was Zac Brown. He and his friends had a good laugh about the confusion. He was a kind and loving soul and will be missed forever.
