Nora Sue Lang Lang

Nora Sue Grimes Lang, 84, of Patrick Springs, Virginia, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Sovah Health in Danville, Virginia. She was born on July 10, 1942, in Pulaski, Virginia, to the late Herbert Hillery Grimes and Lillian Frances Connely Isom.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Lang; two sisters, Mildred Stephens and Barbara Jean Yates; and one brother, Jerry Grimes.

Nora was of the Christian faith. She devoted much of her life to caring for others, working as a caregiver, certified nursing assistant, and private-duty nurse. She especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Nora enjoyed watching detective shows on television and treasured the comfort of being at home. Earlier in life, she enjoyed traveling and visiting different places, including the Bahamas.

She is survived by three daughters, Shelia Donahue (Mark), Cynthia Lang, and Robin Lang (Kenny Rowe); one son, Eddie Hoback; three sisters, Peggy Holley, Ruth Meador, and Connie Pedigo (Gary); one brother, Terry Grimes; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend special thanks to her caregivers, Nicole Bocock and Nancy Van Marter, for the care and compassion shown to Nora.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service – Martinsville Chapel. Interment will take place at Mountain View Cemetery, 711 Church Street, Ridgeway, Virginia 24148. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
