August 23, 1967 - October 19, 2022

Odell William Gray III, age 55, of Ferrum VA passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2022. Odell is survived by his two beautiful children, Will and Abby Gray, of Ferrum, and their mother Heather Gray, his step-mother, Pat Crawley Gray of Hardy, sister, Karen (Jonathan) Leary of Salem, stepsister, Laura (Lin) Osborne of Cary, NC, along with many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Mary Gray. Odell was well known in the Ferrum community for his work with the Ferrum Fire Department, also graduating from Ferrum College where he worked for a time. Odell loved Ferrum and was proud to call it home.  He had a quick wit and loved to joke around and make people laugh.  He was incredibly proud of his children and loved being a part of their lives.  Odell will be greatly missed by many. Funeral services will be conducted at Twin Oaks Baptist Church, 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2022 with Pastor Terry Covey officiating. Interment will follow in the Carter-Young Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to assist with expenses. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
