Patricia Gayle Mcdowell Chaney

Patricia Gayle McDowell Chaney, age 79, of Danville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2026, at Lynchburg General Hospital.

Mrs. Chaney was born in Danville, Virginia on November 19, 1946, to the late Virginia Brumfield McDowell and Clarence McDowell.

Mrs. Chaney was a member of Timberlake Baptist Church and spent many years as a Folder at Dan River Mills in Danville.

Mrs. Chaney is survived by her daughter, Robin Meador (David) of Blue Ridge, Virginia; brother, Wayne McDowell; grandchildren, Rachel Brumfield (Jeremy) and Emily Meador; and great-grandchild, Landon Powell.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her late husband, Harold Chaney; and sister, Carolyn Chatman.

A graveside service for Mrs. Chaney will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Danville Memorial Gardens with Reverend Daniel Custer officiating.
