Patricia Pritchett Cooper

Patricia Pritchett Cooper, 82 of Chatham, VA passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Liberty Ridge in Lynchburg, VA. She was born January 28, 1941 in Danville, VA to the late Nellie May Durham Pritchett and the late William Nathaniel Pritchett. She was married to the late Norris Lee Cooper.

She was a member of Oak Ridge Christian Church and was a special education teacher for Pittsylvania County schools for 17 years. She was a member of the Callands Red Hatters, enjoyed working in the tobacco market as clerk in her earlier years, and along with her beloved husband Norris, were the owner and operators of Cooper’s R/C Racetrack. She will always be remembered as a kindhearted and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Shay Cooper Borel (Mark); her sons, R. Dale Cooper (Nancy Bowman) and Michael Owen Cooper (Fabien Gestas); grandchildren, Robert Dale “Rob” Cooper, Jr., Kourtney Nicole Cooper, Taylor Borel Usry, and Marcus Paul Borel; great-grandchildren, Ava, Owen, Meridith, Alaina, and Carrington; her sister, Linda White; and her brothers, Tyrone Hassell Pritchett, and Aubrey Rowland Pritchett.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, August 27, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at Oak Ridge Church of Christ with Pastor Donald Shields officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023, 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Services, Chatham Chapel, 147 S. Main Street, Chatham, VA.

At other times the family will receive friends and family at Mrs. Coopers residence.
