Phillip James Bogle
PHILLIP JAMES BOGLE, 56, of Charlotte, NC, and formerly of Bland, VA, passed away Monday, August 10, 2026 at his home. He was born August 20, 1969 in Radford, VA, the son of the late Jim & Mary Bogle.
Phillip was the sweetest, funniest and most caring nurturer who had the biggest heart and brightest smile. Best known for his quirky personality, within his presence, you would feel endless happiness. He was always full of love for everyone around him. Not only was he a friend who loved and didn’t judge, he was often there for his friends when others didn’t notice.
He was a graduate of the Bland High School Class of 1987. He worked for ABB in the stock room before relocating to the Charlotte area and working as a technician at Lenscrafters. As his health began to deteriorate, he was content being at home with Wayne and his cats.
He enjoyed decorating his home and working in his outdoor flower gardens. He loved being in nature and loved all animals.
Phillip included many into his chosen family. He was not just a friend, but was a piece of your heart. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Daniel & Mary Evelyn Franklin Bogle, his life partner of over 35 years, Wayne Maikranz, a special grandmother, his “Mamaw” Pearl Baker Franklin and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Danny Bogle; his Bogle family cousins, Dewey Bogle and Janeth VandenDungen; several Franklin family cousins; a very special lifelong friend, Darrell Weddle and several extended family members, special neighbors and special friends.
Per his wishes, Phillip will be cremated. A memorial service will be planned for a later date.
The Bogle family is in the care of A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate, avestandsons.com, (540) 921-2985.
