Phyllis Marie Hundley

Mrs. Phyllis Lester Hundley, 69, Ridgeway, Virginia, gained her angel wings Wednesday, May 8, 2024, and went home to be with Jesus She was surrounded by her loving family and while the family mourns their loss, they are also rejoicing at her homegoing to be with her Savior.Phyllis was born May 30, 1954, to the late Richard Sanford Lester and Ruby Lester Leake and resided in Stoneville, North Carolina for most of her early life.She was a member of Wayside Baptist Church where she knelt at an old-fashioned altar and surrendered her life to Jesus during a Spring revival service. Phyllis so dearly loved her church family. She enjoyed spending precious time with her family and watching HGTV Network during the last few weeks of bed confinement. Phyllis worked in textiles for over thirty years at Tultex/Sale Knitting, Sara Lee Corporation, and VF Knitwear, from which she retired due to disability related to health issues.Phyllis is survived by her loving husband of forty-six years, Ed C. Hundley; daughters, Tammy Martin (Randy) and Jennifer Hundley (Justin Gordon); son, Justin Hundley (Tiffany Hammock); sisters, Mary Chilton and Vanessa Conner; brother, Richard S. Lester, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Regina Hundley, Margaret Fain, and Betty Rudy; brothers-in-law, Daniel Hundley (Charlotte) and Chester Hundley (Nancy) and Tony Hundley (Ann); granddaughters, Zaelee Marie Hundley and Karlee Necole Hundley; special grandson, Lucas Hatley; several nieces and nephews.The funeral will be Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Wayside Baptist Church, 1256 Morehead Ave Ridgeway, Virginia 24148, with Pastor Craig Hicks and Dr. Greg Hodges officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, May 13, 2024, at Wayside Baptist Church, 1256 Morehead Ave Ridgeway, Virginia 24148, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.The Hundley family wishes to thank Amedisys Home Health and Hospice Care for the attentive and loving care provided to Phyllis over the latter seven months of her precious life.Wright Funeral Service and Crematory is serving the family.
