Pierrette Theakston Boardwine

Pierrette “Perri” Theakston Boardwine, 82, of Troutville and formerly of Miami, Florida, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 28, 2024. She was known as “Nana Pie” to her beloved grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Giles “Papa Jack” Boardwine; beloved mother, Merrie “Didi” Theakston; and father, Lewis “Pete” Theakston Senior (Miss Mary).

Perri is survived by her loving daughter, Michele Deemer (Jamie); grandchildren, Alex Hegarty (Leah), Eric Deemer (Sarah), and Kylie Deemer (Michael); great grandchildren, Sophia Deemer, Dakota Deemer, Caleb Deemer, and Aurora Deemer; brothers, Pete Theakston (Irene) and Pierce Theakston (Tandy); and other family members.

She was a devout Catholic who served for the Order of Mother Theresa’s Sisters in Miami, helping the poor. She was a member of Saint Andrews and Saint Gerard Catholic Church. She loved birds and astrology. She enjoyed World music, a nice cup of tea, and sunsets. She was kind, considerate, had a keen interest in those she cared about, and a lovely laugh. She was a member of a clogging dancing team who performed in Miami, her hometown. She was a source of much joy, was very generous, loved her family deeply, revered her dad, and adored her mother immensely. She will be greatly missed by all.

A Chapel Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, VA 24019. The family will have a Visitation one hour prior from 1:00 - 2:00pm. Interment will be at St. Andrews Diocesan Cemetery.
