Prather May Murray

Prather “Pops” May Murray Jr., 70, of Ridgeway, Virginia passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025. He was born June 4, 1954, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina to Doris Jean Deryke and the late Prather May Murray Sr.

Murray proudly served in the Marines and was of the Baptist faith. He worked for Atlas Roofing for more than fifteen years. Murray loved the beach and enjoyed camping and outdoors. In his free time, he enjoyed sitting on the front porch and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters and also loved having cookouts with his friends.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife Sandra Jean Richards Murray; stepson, Michael Hudson Jr. (Betty); sister, Kathy Davis (Bob) and Brenda Winchester; brother, Randy Murray (Wendy); and grandchildren, Hanna Marie Hudson and Taylor Lynn.

All services will be private.
