Rachel Gilpin

Mrs. Rachel Ann Richmond Gilpin, age 82, of Covington, died Friday, February 3, 2023, at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany, Low Moor. She was the wife of the late Gary Francis "George" Gilpin.
Mrs. Gilpin was born April 25, 1940 in Hinton, WV, the daughter of the late John Harvey Richmond and Martha Fox Richmond. She was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family and was a wonderful and loving mother to her daughters. Rachel was a faithful member of First Church of the Nazarene where she taught Sunday school and served her church in any capacity that was needed.
Mrs. Gilpin is survived by a daughter, Lisa Huffman and husband, Dennis of Covington; her daughters of the heart, Wanda, Vickie, Betty and Billie; a sister, Virginia Ruth "Jenny" Angell of Covington; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Gilpin was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Gilpin.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, February 5, 2023, at First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Sonny Wiseman officiating, assisted by Rev. Donny Brown. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 1:30 P.M. until time of service at the church.
