Ralph Frederick Spraker

Ralph Frederick Spraker, 88, of Bassett, VA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Skyline Nursing & Rehab Center. He was born on September 15, 1934, to the late Henry Marshall Spraker and Vergie Stoneman. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife Nannie Lou Spraker and second wife, Jacqueline Horton Spraker; as well as two sisters and six brothers.

Ralph was a longtime member of Mill Creek Baptist Church, where he enjoyed the worship and fellowship. When he wasn’t at church, you could find Ralph tending his garden or watching westerns. He also loved Gospel music, whether listening or singing along.

Ralph is survived by his loving fiancée, Margaret Keith; two daughters, Dorothy Ann Spraker Martin, and Betty Jane Spraker Russell; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 12:00 PM at the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel in Bassett, with Pastor Barry Cundiff officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral services at the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. A burial will follow immediately after the service at Henry Memorial Park.
