Ralph Junior James

Ralph Junior James, age 74 of Boones Mill died Sunday, May 28, 2023 at his home. He was born July 12, 1948 a son of the late Gordon and Ruth Akers James. He was also preceded in death by his nephew, Albert James. Mr. James retired from Southern States with 48 years of service. He was also employed by Jeff Key, Inc. as a truck driver and loved the truck he drove. He always kept the trucks spotless and everyone knew which one was his. Ralph loved the outdoors, most of all hunting, fishing and tractor pulls. Surviving are his wife, June James; daughters, Angela Kinsey (J.J.), Susan James; grandchildren, Jamie Sizemore (Jonathon), Samantha Kinsey and fiancé, Lucas; brother, Gordon B. James, Jr. (Grace), Curtis Ray James; nephew, Marvin James (Wendy); special niece, Claudine James; numerous other family and friends including his tractor pulling family. Funeral services will be conducted from Ridgeview Church, Boones Mill 11 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Daniel Naff officiating. Interment will follow in Radford Cemetery, Floyd. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
