Randy James Vaughan

Mr. Randy James Vaughan, age 69 of Mount Airy, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Vaughan was born in Grayson County, Virginia on January 20, 1954, to James Vaughan and the late Norma Shaw Vaughan. Randy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him. Mr. Vaughan was the owner and operator of Vaughan Heating and Cooling. Randy was a member of Round Peak Masonic Lodge # 616 A.F.&A.M. Surviving is his son and daughter-in-law, Jamie Vaughan and wife Joanie; daughter and son-in-law, Heather Vaughan Jefferson and husband Daniel; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Sheila Brintle and husband Tommy; six grandchildren, Jackson Vaughan, Annsley Puckett, Julianna Vaughan, Jenna Jefferson, Chynna Brintle, and Julius Brintle; a brother, Doug Vaughan; along with a niece Bea Vaughan and a nephew, Gus Vaughan. Mr. Vaughan was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Ann Bunker Vaughan; his mother, Norma Shaw Vaughan; and a sister, Diana Vaughan. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Rev. Eric Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Peoples Church Cemetery with Masonic Rights conducted by Round Peak Lodge #616 AF&AM. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Moody Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for all the loving care given to Mr. Vaughan.
