Ray Benton Robison
On November 8, 2024 Dr. Ray Robison died in The Virginia Veterans Care Center, Salem, VA. Born in Erie, PA on April 15, 1925 to Clair and Ethel Robison. He joined the Navy during World War II on his 18th birthday, serving in the Pacific Arena on the Mineship Shadow. At the end of the war, he returned stateside and began his studies at Harvard, graduating from both Harvard College and Harvard School of Dental Medicine. While practicing dentistry, he joined the Army Reserves and served until his retirement.
He is preceded in death by his oldest son, Peter. Surviving family members are his wife, Betty, of Roanoke; his son, Douglas of Roanoke; his son, Thomas and wife Monica of Seattle, Washington; also Karen Robison of Harrisonburg, wife of deceased son, Peter. Dr. Robison has six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of both the Virginia Veterans Care Center and Good Samaritan Hospice for their excellent care.
At a later date, family and friends will gather at Timber Ridge Cemetery, Lexington, VA for a graveside funeral.
