Raymond Ray Cheatham

Raymond Ray Cheatham was born in Lynchburg, VA on January 17th, 1945, and went to the Lord on September 25th, 2026, at the age of 81-years old.

Raymond is preceded in death by several loved ones including his mother (Estelle Cheatham), his father (Eldridge Cheatham), and younger brother (Dennis Cheatham who helped guide him towards finding salvation in Jesus Christ).

Raymond is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorris "Mema" Cheatham, five sons and their wives: James (Janet), Paul (Tammy), Mark (Angie), David (Tracy), Michael (Michele); thirteen grandchildren, and nine (soon to be ten) great-grandchildren.

In 81 years of life, Raymond has touched the lives of many. His legacy will live on for generations through his family and others that were lucky enough to have met him. May we remember him when we think of Nascar's Richard Petty and Baseball's LA Dodgers- two of his favorite things to watch after a long day of hard work. And may he forever be known for the love, experience, and wisdom that he shared.

Raymond spent his professional career with Georgia Pacific for over 36 years, missing only one day of work due to sickness. His professionalism and commitment showed through his dedication to his work, to those that depended on him and to his family.

In his final time here on Earth, Raymond would say, "Thank you, Jesus."

When he entered Heaven, he was able to say that face to face.
