Rebecca Emma Keys Ford, 94, of Christiansburg, VA, passed away on January 6, 2024. She was born in Akron, OH, on July 5, 1929, to the late Johnson and Gracie Webb Keys. Rebecca was predeceased by her parents, Johnson Keys, Gracie Webb Keys Reynolds, stepfather Robert Reynolds, husband Henry Clay Ford, Jr, and one child, Dwight Ford. Three brothers, Robert Reynolds Jr., John Reynolds, and Dillion Reynolds, and three sisters, Aldora Keys Green, Mary Ann Keys, and Patricia Berger. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Blacksburg, and Greater Mount Zion Holy Church in Christiansburg. She was also a member of the Baptist Missionary Organization, President of the garden club, multiple women’s axillary clubs, and a faithful attendant of her bible study group. She graduated from the Christiansburg Institute and was often referred to by her nicknames, “The Silver Fox” and “Buzz.” She is survived by her sisters, Barbara Burton (Dr. Edward), Roanoke, VA, Estelle Hairston, Roanoke, VA; children, Elizabeth Matthews, Tampa, FL, Nancy Taliferro, Kissimmee, FL, Henry Ford, III (Nancy), Peterstown, WV; granddaughter, Lauranish Jamison, Orlando, FL; grandsons, Byrant Woodson (Trudy), Ocala, FL, Miguel Navedo, Williamsburg, VA, Maurice Carter (Amanda), Austin, TX, Michael Rule (Annie), Peterstown, WV; great-grandchildren, Olivia Perry (Monty), Victoria Revely, Rayshawn Navedo, Eden Woodson, Jeremy Rule, Garry Navedo, Reese Cavanaugh, Kamden Carter, and Alicia Carter; children she mothered, Steve Jamison (Linda), Columbia, SC, Portia Morris (Paul), Oakboro, NC, Sylvia Bishop (Dr. Nathaniel), Christiansburg, VA, Terry Bradley, Fort Bragg, NC, Mary Claire Childress (Charles), Christiansburg, VA, Dardy Long (Amanda), Virginia Beach, VA, Louis Mclean, Dallas, TX, and a host of nieces and nephews. Also left to cherish her memory are her special friends, Ms. Louise Harvey, Mr. and Mrs. John Nowlin, Mrs. Tiny Morris, Mrs. Mary Reynolds, Ms. Betty Day, Eulalia Mills, Pauline Palmer, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Price, and Joann Price. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Anthony Tucker officiating. Interment will follow at Southview Memorial Gardens, Blacksburg, VA. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. before the service at McCoy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Greater Mount Zion Holy Church (385 Depot St NE, Christiansburg, VA 24073) or to a charity of your choice.
