Rebecca Price Martin
Rebecca Jean Price Martin, affectionately known as Becky to her friends and family, passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on May 8, 2025, at Pulaski Health and Rehab. Born on October 12, 1947, in Pearisburg, VA, she was a beacon of love and kindness, touching the lives of all who knew her.
Becky's early years in Pearisburg laid a strong foundation for the remarkable woman she would become. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, the late Charles Douglas Price and Ruby Odella Brewer, and grew up alongside her siblings, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Although she bid farewell to her brothers-in-law, Gary and Freddie Martin, and Charles Stone, and her half-sisters, Billie, Mary, and Barbara, before her own journey ended, the legacy of their shared love endures through the stories and lessons passed down.
The love story of Becky and her devoted husband, William Harvey Martin, is one for the ages. Together, they created a family full of warmth and joy, raising their daughters, Trish Huff (married to Mike) and Heather Crawford, in a home where laughter was abundant and support was unwavering. Becky's heart swelled with pride for her grandchildren, Mark Albert, Kaitlyn Crawford, Will Huff, and Paige Huff, and she found new joy in her great-grandchildren, Wildlyn and Watson Albert.
Becky's sister, Lucy Stone, along with her sisters-in-law, Betty Smith and Joyce Ann Meredith, and brother-in-law, David Martin, will hold dear the countless cherished moments they shared. Her aunts, Ann Price and Susie Stump, and her many nieces, nephews, and cousins, were an integral part of her extended family, which she treasured deeply.
Professionally, Becky was a respected member of the Celanese Contractor team, where she worked in the receiving department. Her colleagues will remember her for her unwavering dedication and the warmth she brought into the workplace every day.
Beyond her family and career, Becky's passions were manifold. She never met a stranger, always greeting new and familiar faces alike with an open heart and a smile that could light up any room. Her hands were rarely still, as she found solace and joy in crafting—her cross-stitch and crochet works were not just hobbies, but acts of love for her family. Baking for yard sales was another way she expressed her creativity, and her delectable treats will be missed by many. Becky was a proud member of the Pleasant Hill Community Church where she dedicated her life to the Lord and her community by working countless hours.
Shopping was more than a pastime for Becky; it was an adventure, especially the annual trip to Pigeon Forge with the family clan, which was always a highlight of the year. Watching any sport involving her grandchildren was one of her greatest pleasures, as she was their biggest cheerleader, celebrating every victory and offering comfort in defeat.
To say Becky's family was her pride and joy would be an understatement. She built a legacy of love, kindness, and generosity that will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Her passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but her spirit—a gentle guide and a source of constant love—will forever be a part of the lives she touched.
Becky's life was a testament to the beauty of simplicity, the strength of family bonds, and the joy of living each day with purpose and love. As we say goodbye to this extraordinary woman, we do so with gratitude for the time we were given with her and the countless memories that will keep her spirit alive.
