Reginald Bennett Mayhew

Mr. Reginald Bennett Mayhew, age 88 of Collinsville, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026.

Mr. Mayhew was born on February 15, 1938 in Martinsville, Virginia to Jesse Bennett Mayhew and Jocie Prillaman Mayhew. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Bernice Jenkins and Eloise Prillaman. He attended Temple Baptist Church. He served in the Virginia National Guard. He enjoyed Mustangs and other automobiles, outdoors, gardening and his wood stove. He retired as manager of the ABC Store at Ridgeway.

Mr. Mayhew is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jeanie Prillaman Mayhew, one son, Timothy Bennett Mayhew (Miriam), one daughter, Mary-Robin Berry (Lynn), four grandchildren, Ben Mayhew (Caroline), Nick Mayhew (Abbey), Mitchell Mayhew, Josh Berry (Elizabeth) and one great grandson, Luke Henry Berry.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Hwy, Bassett, Virginia and a funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with Reverend Don Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
