Relda Osborne Chaney Shelton

Relda Osborne Chaney Shelton, 80, of Martinsville, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022. She was born June 8, 1942 in Climax, Virginia, to the late William Thomas Osborne and Irene Towler Osborne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Evelyn Perry and Dorothy Moore; and brothers, Burton, Carl, Onyx and William Osborne. She enjoyed helping people, visiting nursing home patients and was an active caregiver. Mrs. Shelton is survived by her husband, Cecil Shelton; daughters, Barbara Gilbert (Mark) and Susan Bowers; step-daughters, Nellie Harbour and Susie Bowman; step-son, Cecil Wayne Shelton; sisters, Ruby Cravens, Brenda Brooks, and Gladys Osborne; half-sister, Annie Donley; brothers, Emory Osborne and Roger Osborne; grandchildren, Chase Barnes and Katie Gilbert; step-grandchildren, Timothy Howell, Kimberly Chapman, Andrew Howell, Cameron Bowman, Becky Florio, Cayla Shelton, Cassidy Shelton, Matthew Shelton and Emily Shelton; numerous great-grandchildren; and grand-dog, Cole Visitation will be Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. The family requests masks be worn. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA, 132 Joseph Martin Highway, Martinsville, Virginia, 24112.
