Rex Wilbur Krantz

Rex Wilbur Krantz, 61 of Huddleston, passed away Monday, May 11, 2026 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born September 27, 1964, a son of the late Robert William Krantz and Rosie Pauline Owens Krantz. He was preceded in death by his sons, Reed & Robert Krantz.

He was a logger all of his life. He was well loved, he was the man, the myth, the legend and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Rex is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Sharyn Adams Krantz; his daughter, Candy Krantz (Brian Wray); his grandchildren, Rayne, Mayce, Jaydn; sisters, Faye Brown (Paul), Rita Krantz; brothers, Bobby Krantz (Liz), Robert Arnold as well as numerous nieces & nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at the Roach Family Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. The family will receive friend from 5 until 7 PM on Friday at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
