Richard Earl Arnold

Richard Earl Arnold, age 80, passed away at home on August 18, 2026. He was born on July 15, 1946, to the late Eddie Arnold and Flossie Britt Arnold.

Richard had the biggest heart and cherished his family. He found great joy in gardening and planting beautiful flowers during the warmer months. He also loved cooking for his family, finding special happiness in preparing meals and gathering around the table with the people he loved most. Richard was an avid NASCAR fan, with a particular fondness for Dale Earnhardt. His generous heart was evident when he was with his four-legged girl, Emie, who he treasured dearly. The memories he created with his family will be deeply cherished and remembered by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Christine R. Arnold; sister, Judy Stevens (Rudy); and his sweet dog, Emie.

A funeral service for Richard will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 26,2026 at Bassett Funeral Service in Bassett, Virginia, with Pastors Jessie Cahill and Ronie Stokes officiating. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow at Henry Memorial Park in Basset, Virginia.
