Richard Law
Richard David Law, age 57, of Covington, died Friday, September 20, 2024, at his residence. He was the husband of Tammy Meadows Law to whom he was married to for thirty-two years.
Mr. Law was born July 28, 1967 in Alleghany County, the son of David Law and the late Shirley Bowles Law. A lifetime resident of this community, he was a graduate of Covington High School, Class of 1986. Richard was employed by Grand Home Furnishings both in Covington and Lewisburg for a number of years before working as a funeral assistant at Loving Funeral Home for over a decade. In his spare time, Richard loved watching NASCAR, decorating his entire home for Christmas each year, reading Alex Cross books and going out to eat and to the movies with his wife and friends. He was a kind and loyal man who was quiet by nature but had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor.
In addition to his wife, Tammy, and his father, David, Mr. Law is survived by two sisters, Lisa Ralsten and Amy Ralsten; two brothers-in-law, Scott Ward and Jay Jay Meadows and wife, Candace; his favorite "nieces", Savanna Ryder, Kristina Corder and Carson Ward; favorite "great nieces", Ivy, Halie and Baylee; his neighbors in High Acres; his friends, Leigh Ann Burns, David S. Crosier, Maria Necolau; mother-in-law, Carolyn Ward and husband, David; and the entire staff of Loving Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 9, 2024 from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with David S. Crosier officiating.
