Richard Lee Adkins

Richard Lee Adkins, passed away peacefully in the morning hours of November 11, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mrs. Katty Adkins. He is predeceased by his parents, Perry Harding and Virginia Adkins.

Richard was a Marine Vet who was a Purple Heart recipient and served two tours in Vietnam. He loved fishing, hunting, NASCAR, and spending time camping at the lake.

Richard is survived by his children; Ricky Francisco (Anise), Danny Adkins, Lynwood Adkins, Perry Lee Adkins (Becky); his grandchildren; Chasity Sexton, Meagan Padgett, Aaron Adkins, Christian Adkins; two great grandchildren; Karson Padgett and Symone Sexton; two great-great grandchildren; two sisters; Joan Roach and Cathy Shelton; and two brothers; Danny Adkins and Ronald Adkins.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 11:00am at Sheva Church of Christ, 4920 Chalk Level Road, Chatham, VA with Minister Larry Owen officiating. A visitation will be held on the same day also at the church from 10-11:00 am prior to the service. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
