Richard Lee Holbrook, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, in his hometown of Lynchburg, Virginia, at the age of 67.
Born on March 30, 1958, in Lynchburg, Richard was known throughout his life for his kind heart, warm personality, and unwavering willingness to help others. He was a devoted brother to Margaret H. Smith, and a proud uncle to Kimberly Dawn Burke and Christopher Shawn Smith, all of Lynchburg.

Outside of work, Richard found joy in traveling and mountain bike riding, always seeking out the beauty and thrill that life had to offer. He had a deep love for animals and treated every creature with gentleness and compassion—often going out of his way to care for stray pets or feed neighborhood animals.

He lived with a spirit of generosity and care, always ready to lend a hand or offer a smile. Richard will be remembered as a sweet, loving man who touched the lives of many. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

At this time, there are no immediate plans for a funeral service. A memorial to honor Richard’s life will be held at a later date.
