Richard Leo Bocock
Richard Leo Bocock, son of the late Henry Letcher Bocock and Bessie Ratlcliff Bocock, was taken to his heavenly home October 8th, 2018.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 65 years, Polly
Rakes Bocock, son Richard Lane Bocock and wife Candice, daughters, Kathy Bocock Cline and husband Danny, Sherry Bocock Quinley and husband, Patrick, eight grandchildren; Ryan Bocock and wife Dana, Philip Bocock and wife Traci, Lauren Bocock Overzet and husband Neslon, Kara Bocock Kim and husband Andrew, Erin Cline Thompson and husband Joel, Stuart Cline, Katelyn Quinley, Kelsey Quinley Mitchell and husband Cody; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Richard was a graduate of Hardin-Reynolds High School and was employed at Fieldcrest Mills for 40 years as shift supervisor, retiring in 1994. He was an active member of Fieldale Baptist Church for over 50 years, serving as Sunday school teacher, Joyful Singers Choir member, Chancel choir member, drama team member, deacon chairman, usher, Bible school director, and many other leadersip capacities. Richard was an avid huntsman and a beloved friend and neighbor to many . Richard is preceded in death by brothers, James, Leon, and Edward and sisters, Nora O'dell , Christine Caudill and Pauline Kendrick. His surviving siblings are Margaret Spencer, Delphine (Bobby) Rakes, Cleo (Alan) Bell and Robbie Jean (Dave) Eychaner.
Viewing will be held at Fieldale Baptist Church, Wednesday October 10, 2018 from 11-12 with a funeral immediately following and a graveside service at Pleasant Grove Christian Church with Revs. Richard Harrison and Allen Jackson presiding.
