Rickey Eugene Wright

Rickey Eugene Wright, 65, of Bassett, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at his residence. He was born on October 27, 1958, in Martinsville, Virginia, to Harold Eugene Wright Sr. and Nellie D. Chastain. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carlene Wright; and his stepfather, Junior Chastain.

Rickey was of the Baptist faith and was baptized at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He had a passion for golf and fishing, and he enjoyed watching NASCAR, WWE, and golf on television. Spending time with his family and friends brought him great joy, and he cherished his weekly phone calls with his mother.

Rickey is survived by his parents, Harold Eugene Wright and Nellie D. Chastain; one sister, Susan Beckwith (Scott); one half brother, Harold E. Wright Jr; one half sister, Carol Osdieck (Paul); one nephew, David Wright; one aunt, Novellia Light (Monroe); best friend, Jimmy Wilkerson; and other family members and friends.
