Rick Allen Wall

Rick Allen Wall, 72, passed away peacefully at his home on September 15, 2026. He was born on July 3, 1954, in Martinsville, Virginia. His mother was Opal Christine Painter Wall Moore (6/16/1935-11/12/2019), his biological father was Albert Roosevelt Wall (7/9/1935-12/16/1996), and his stepfather was Roger Lee Moore, I (12/5/1935-2/5/1984), who raised him. Besides his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his baby girl, Candice Lynne Wall (1/31/1988-6/26/1996), who had Cockayne Syndrome.

Surviving are his wife, Teresa Lynne Via Wall, of the home; daughter, Adrienne Nicole Wall; grandson, Maximus “Max” Daylan Orion Chitwood; and “adopted” daughter, Jessie Elizabeth Craig Bryant. Also surviving are his brothers, Roger Lee Moore, II (Betty “Louann” Shively) of Critz, VA and Kennon “Ken” Brown Moore of Fieldale, VA; and half-sisters, Wanda Wall Dunn (Clay) of Belmont, NC and Teresa Wall Johnson (Randy) of Bassett, VA.

Rick grew up in Martinsville and especially remembered living at 311 Wingfield Street. He attended schools in Martinsville until his family moved to Fieldale during his high school years. He attended Fieldale-Collinsville High School, but transferred to George Washington Carver High School, after desegregation occurred, where he graduated in 1973. That is where he met his future wife, Teresa, and they were married on September 25, 1977.

Rick had a strong work ethic and rarely missed a day of work. He started working when he was in high school and his first job was at Hardee’s in Martinsville. He worked at Pillowtex (formerly Fieldcrest Mills) for 31 years until the plant closed. He then trained at Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Orlando, FL and started working at Roanoke Valley Harley Davidson (RVHD) upon graduation. He retired from RVHD in 2016 after 11 years of service.

Rick had a strong faith in God and was a prayer warrior. He was a loving and devoted family man. He cherished his friends and was willing to go out of way to help others. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was loved by everyone he met. He will be greatly missed!
