Rita Matkins Fletcher
Rita Matkins Fletcher, age 70, passed away peacefully at her residence on August 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. A passionate and skilled softball player, Rita brought the same dedication to her professional career. She worked for CIT for 51 years, starting right out of high school at Dan River in data collection and working her way up to Chief Commercial Officer of Operations. She extended the same care and love she showed to her family at home to her work family, taking care of everyone around her and being a Mama Bear to all.

She also leaves behind her nephew, Jeremy Wiles, sister-in-law Tammy Shelton, and brother-in-law Terry Fletcher. In addition to her parents, Rita was predeceased by a sister, Toby Matkins Wiles.
