Rj Mitchell

RJ Mitchell passed away on January 3, 2026, at his residence.

RJ worked for many years as a commercial and residential painter, a trade that reflected his strong work ethic and attention to detail. He was known as someone who could fix just about anything and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Myers; his stepfather, Roscoe Myers; and his father, Ralph Jackson Mitchell.

RJ is survived by his wife of 45 years and the love of his life, Vickie Mitchell; his daughters, Jennifer Tate and Sara Nichols; his son-in-law, David Canner; his grandsons, Jonathan Jones and Ethan Nichols; and his granddaughters, Hailey Tate and Emma Canner. He is also survived by his sisters, Selena Mitchell and Tina Mitchell; two nephews; and many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

In his free time, RJ enjoyed fishing, racing, fixing things, and passionately yelling at TV shows and Facebook reels—something that brought humor and smiles to those around him. His personality, dedication to family, and unmistakable presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
