Robert "Bob" Lowell Couch

Robert “Bob” Lowell Couch, 82, of Ridgeway, Virginia, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2026. He was born April 28, 1944, in McDowell County, West Virginia, to the late Gordon Gilley Couch and Ocie Ella Turner Couch.

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Couch; his siblings, Marguerite Helen Leisham, Bert Cline Couch, Victor Gray Couch, Ruby Inez Couch, Stacey Lionel Couch, Thurman Gordon Couch, Wilma Loraine Couch, and Edgar Alan Couch.

Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army with the 82nd Airborne Division. Following his military service, he continued a life of hard work, retiring from Southeast Container after 18 years as a stacker.

Bob was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and a life member of Horsepasture Rescue Squad. His military service and commitment to the rescue squad reflected his willingness to serve others and contribute to his community.

He is survived by his daughters, Connie Couch of High Point, North Carolina and Michelle Slusher of Ridgeway, Virginia; grandchildren, Victor Drake Slusher (Jenny), Matthew Jacob Slusher (Sarah), Joshua Lowell Causey; great-grandchildren, Caden Wyatt House, Athena Joi Causey, Rachael Paige Causey, Lillyanna Causey, Madison Grace Slusher; fur baby, Willie; and multiple grand fur babies and great-grand fur babies; and other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 13, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Wright Funeral Service – Martinsville Chapel. Interment will follow at Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 12, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service – Martinsville Chapel, and again one hour prior to the funeral service.
