Robert "Chopper" Lee Church

Robert Lee “Chopper” Church, 59, of Ridgeway, VA passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center. He was born on July 18, 1964, in Martinsville, VA to the late Fred Seymour Church and Hazel Beale Church. He was preceded in death by his sister, Delavander “Dee” Mayer.

Robert loved spending time outdoors fishing, hunting and being at the beach, specifically Nags Head. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR racing.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Church; sons, Jimmy Swain (Brittney), and Derrick Church; step-daughters, Megan Rigney (Dustin) and Katelyn Cassady (Blayne); brother, Jentry Church (Sandra); and his niece, Sarah Hammond (Hunter). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Larrah Rigney, Abbie Swain, Jacob Swain, Avery Church, Olivia Cassady, and Bodie Smith.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2024, at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel with Rev. Martin A. Furrow, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow the service at Henry Memorial Park.
