Robert Edwards Williams

Robert E. Williams, 82, of Salem, Va., passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. Robert was an active member of Central United Methodist Church. He had many hobbies including electronics, photography, bird watching, and gardening. Most of all he enjoyed many motorcycle vacations with his true love, Faye. His biggest love was his family and was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and husband with all his being. Robert was preceded in death by his parents John and Mildred Vest Williams.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Faye Williams; sons, Robert Williams, Jr (Denise); Jason Williams (Kristine); four grandchildren, Faith (Cole), Alyssa (Chris), Hayden, and Griffin; two step-grandchildren, Cole and Grant; three great-grandchildren, Henley, Riley, and Haisley.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home, Salem, Va., with Pastor Tim Gearheart officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest alongside his parents at the Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem, Va.

Friends may visit with the family from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Central United Methodist, Salem, Va.
