Robert Gordon McKinney

Mr. Robert Gordon McKinney, age 88, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born on March 17, 1936, in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Grover and Mable Carlen McKinney. Mr. McKinney was retired from Scenic Ford after many years of service and was a member of Renfro Masonic Lodge # 691 AF&AM. Robert proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter-in-law, Robin McKinney; a grandson Taron McKinney; one brother, Charles McKinney; sister-in-law, Bonnie McKinney; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents Mr. McKinney was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn Tolbert McKinney; two sons, Michael Gordon McKinney, William Patrick “Pat” McKinney; one sister, Lois McKinney Phillips; and four brothers, Morton McKinney, Edward “Eddie” McKinney, Merle McKinney, and Don McKinney. A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Skyline Memory Gardens with Reverend Alex Martin officiating. Masonic Rites will be conducted by Renfro Masonic Lodge # 691 AF&AM. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
