Robert Lee Woodson

Robert “Bobby” Lee Woodson, 84, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 2, 1940 in Pittsylvania County, VA to the late Louise Owen Woodson and the late Robert Fred Woodson. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Giles Woodson.

Bobby was a member of Marion Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School Class for over 30 years. Prior to his retirement, he worked for over 30 years at Verizon phone company as an engineer.

In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his daughters; Lisa Ann Woodson of Chatham, VA., Allison Edwards Dolan (Frank) of Dry Fork, VA., Mary Elizabeth Dodd of Chatham, VA., son; Mark Alan Woodson of Chatham, VA., grandchildren; Taylor Elizabeth Dodd (Nick Higgins), Joshua Edward Dolan, Raegan Carolyne Dolan, niece; Kristy Yeatts (James), great niece; Brittany Renninger, special friends; members of Harvey Giles Sunday School Class.

In addition to his parents; Mr. Woodson was predeceased by his brothers; Glenn Franklin Woodson, David Ray Woodson and his son-in-law; Bobby Dodd.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 6:00 to 7:30PM at Marion Baptist Church 2669 Marion Road, Chatham, VA 24531.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at 11:00AM at Marion Baptist Church, 2669 Marion Road, Chatham, VA 24531 with Dr. Hank Meadows officiating. Interment will follow at the Giles Family Cemetery, West Giles Road, Chatham, VA. At other times the family will receive friends at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Marion Baptist Church Building Fund 2669 Marion Road, Chatham, VA 24531.
