In Loving Memory of Robert Morton King, Sr
Robert (Bob) Morton King, Sr, 84 of Roanoke, VA went home to his heavenly father on August 9, 2026. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Robert was born in Mt Airy, Maryland on December 2,1941 to the late Eileen Miller King and Howard Haller King. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his wife Linda King, brother Howard “Pepper” King, son William Howard King (Billy), and granddaughter Ada Line Elizabeth King.
Bob is survived by his sisters; Kathryn Jones (Louis), Patricia Martin (Kevin) children; Kenneth King (Linda), Robert Morton king, Jr, Robert Morton King, III (Karen), Teresa (Teri) Morris (Mike), Tammy L Ellis (Randy), and stepson; Jaime Saunders (Amanda Grace). Grandchildren; Heather King (Randy), Kenny King (Eve), Brandy King, Savannah King, Tyler King (Sasha), Tiffani Mosley (Jamine), Jessica Huson (Joe), Michael Thomas Morris (Kelly), Brian L Ellis (Taylor), and Scott E Ellis (Grace). Great grandchildren; Jayme, Terra, Phyllicia, Phelix, Jaden, Adriel, Justus, Cohen, Lilly, Ellie, Gideon, Micah, Madeline, Mason, Emory, Allie, Sadie, and Hayden. Special nieces and Nephews; Ticia, Randy, Benjamin, and Todd. Ex-wife Alice Lorraine King.
Bob being the avid fisherman, he loved to fish on Smith Mountain Lake. He loved it so much that in the late 80’s he started a fishing guide business by the name of “Fishin’ with Bob”. He also ran a tackle shop at the lake called the “Honey Hole”. Bob was his happiest when fishing, as well as talking about fishing. He loved it so much that he would write articles in the local magazine “Discover Smith Mountain Lake”. Although, it has been many years since he has fished, his articles continue to be used.
The family would like to acknowledge with deep appreciation South Roanoke Nursing Home for the loving and dedicated care Bob received. Our deepest appreciation to his special angels that cared and loved him for more than 2 years; Ashley his favorite, who cared for him, and made him laugh. His nurses Diane and Nila. As well as all the staff and his fellow bingo players.
There will be a Celebration of Life on August 29, 2026, at Lotz Vinton Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1pm till 2pm with a service starting at 2pm.
