Robert Nicely

Robert Anthony Nicely, Sr., age 67, of 5115 Longdale Furnace Rd, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Sunday, May 19, 2024 at the Alleghany Health and Rehabilitation Center in Clifton Forge.
Robert was born on February 23, 1957 in Clifton Forge to the late Allen Lee Nicely and Edith Marie Williams Armstrong Nicely. He worked in the contracting industry as a laborer for roof and deck installation for Dave McCombs Contracting. He was a member of Longdale United Methodist Church, and enjoyed hunting and four-wheeler trail riding.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Danny Nicely and Rickey Nicely.
He is survived by two sons, Robert Anthony Nicely, Jr. and wife Ashley of Covington and Neal Stapleton of Iron Gate; a brother, Dwight Nicely and wife Maggie of Richmond; five grandchildren, Unika, Jasmine, J. R., Chloe, and Haley; a great granddaughter, Emma; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 2:00 PM in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge. There will be no formal visitation. However, friends may call during business hours at Nicely Funeral Home.
