Robert S. Hodges

Robert S. Hodges, age 74 of Danville, VA passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Lewis Gale Hospital, Blacksburg, VA. Mr. Hodges was born December 19, 1948, in Danville to the late William M. Hodges and the late Rubye Wiles Hodges. He was married to Susan Gravely Hodges, who survives, of the residence.

Mr. Hodges attended Hope Church in Danville and retired from the maintenance department of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. after many years. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps and enjoyed archery and hunting.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, in addition to his parents.

A memorial service to celebrate Mr. Hodges’ life will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Home, Mt. Hermon Chapel, 3995 Franklin Turnpike, Danville officiated by Pastor Brian Edwards. Prior to the memorial service, a visitation by friends will be held from 5:45 – 6:45 p.m., also at the Mt. Hermon Chapel of Norris Funeral Services.
