Robert Wayne Ayers

Robert Wayne Ayers, 77, of Martinsville, VA passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Stanleytown Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on May 24, 1947, in Melbourne, FL to the late Robert Edward Ayers and Faye Kathleen Tollison Ayers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah June Semones Ayers; sister, Deborah Pappas; and his brother, Eddie Ayers.

Mr. Ayers served in the United States Army and was a Federal Park Ranger for the Army Corp of Engineers. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and spent many hours on the coast. He had a deep passion for preservation efforts and state parks. He loved to travel. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Beloved husband and father, he was a man of great faith, character and integrity.

He is survived by his daughters, Kathy Martin (Dwayne) and Sherrie Foley; sisters, Sharon Baldini (Leo) and Linda Robertson (Bruce); grandchildren, James Hylton (Calie), Christopher Hylton, Brandon Hylton, Kaitlyn Sullivan, Daniel Martin, and Krista Martin; great-granddaughter, Evelyn Hylton.
