Roger "Barry" Barrett Martin
Roger Barrett Martin, affectionately known as Barry, passed away on October 21, 2024. Born on February 2, 1957, he was a beloved husband, father, Grampy, brother, brother-in-law, and friend.
Barry was predeceased by his parents, Dorothy and Cloyd Martin; his sisters, Marti and Lang; and his first wife, Sandy.
Surviving are his wife, Sheron Crawford; his son, Zach Martin; his grandson Hunter Martin; his brother CJ Martin and his partner Lois; his niece, Sarah Groussman and her husband Daniel; numerous cousins and in-laws; and his special fur babies, Harley and Lucy.
To know Barry was to love him. His smile, zest for life, kind ways and sense of humor would always brighten and lighten the day. His passions were many: cruising the open road on his Harley; listening to music, preferably live and often at Parkway Brewery; creating and refining marinades, in search of the perfect flavor; tinkering with machinery and cheering on the Cowboys and the Cavaliers. In recent years, he found joy at Claytor Lake, fishing, boating and simply enjoying the company of family and friends.
Barry was happiest when surrounded by loved ones – whether relaxing in the comfort of his home with a movie and popcorn or on the next great adventure taking in the vistas and valleys and helping others along the way.
As an independent owner operator, Barry’s career spanned miles ensuring deliveries were made safely and on time. He was masterful at squeezing into tight spaces, packing a rig just right and finding a way to make the most of his time on the road.
His family invites you to join them at Parkway Brewery on November 9, 2024 from 2 – 4 to celebrate and honor his life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Jefferson Center's Music Lab to support its youth education programs. Memorial donations can be sent to:
