Roger Franklin Raines

Roger Franklin Raines Sr., 78, of Danville, VA, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025. Roger was born in Danville, VA, on November 21, 1946 to the late Frances Dodd Raines and the late Desmond Franklin. He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Mrs. Phyllis Perkins Raines.

Roger was self employed at M. View Garage as a Auto Repair Mechanic for many years previous to his retirement. Roger proudly served his country in the US Navy and he was of the Christian Faith.

In addition to his wife, Roger is survived by a son; Roger Franklin Raines Jr. of Danville, VA; a daughter; Kelly Anne Raines of Danville, VA; and a sister; Judith Raines Rose and husband Michael of Capon Bridge, WV.

In addition to his parents, Roger was predeceased by a brother; Randy Carson Raines.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 2:00pm, at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA, with Pastor Jonathan White officiating. A private interment will follow the service.
