Ronald James Oswald

Ronald James Oswald Jr., 51, passed away unexpectedly, due to ongoing health complications on March 14, 2025. Ron was born in Richmond, VA on September 12, 1973 to Mrs. Diane Burgess Oswald and the late Ronald James Oswald Sr.

Ron was of the Christian Faith, and was a longtime faithful member of Oak Grove Christian Church, where he was serving as the chairman of the board, and was an elder in the church. He was a life member of the Riceville Java Volunteer Fire Department. He took great pride in the fact that he taught Hunter Education and Gun Safety, and loved spending time with Trent and Landon teaching them the fundamentals of life and hard work.

In addition to his Mother, Ron is survived by two sons; Trent Oswald and Landon Oswald of the residence; their Mother, Summer Nelson Oswald; two brothers; John T. Hankins (Alicia) of Forrest Grove, OR and Woodrow D. Hankins of the residence; his former in laws; Rick and Sondra Nelson of Danville, VA; and dog; Thor.

Ron was predeceased by his father, Ronald James Oswald Sr., and two dear friends; Jimmy Craddock and Keith Stogner.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Oak Grove Christian Church, 20581 US Highway 29, Chatham, VA 24531.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 1:00pm, at Oak Grove Christian Church, 20581 US Highway 29, Chatham, VA with Pastor Mike Waters officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at the Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday March 21, 2025 from 6-7:30pm also at Oak Grove Christian Church.
