Ronald Keith Harvey
Ronald Keith Harvey of Danville, Virginia left for his heavenly home on Friday, November 22, 2024. He was born on a cold Winter’s Monday on February 1, 1954 in Richmond, Virginia to loving parents Peggy Anne Life Harvey and the late William Franklin Harvey.
Ronnie graduated from George Washington High School in 1972. He went on to earn an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science from Danville Community College in 1994. Through his love of country, he served as a volunteer in the community in various capacities as well as many years with the Danville Life Saving Crew. He had a stellar 38-year career with the Danville Fire Department as Assistant Chief retiring in 2015.
As an avid hunter and fisherman Ronnie traveled to exotic big game hunting destinations in Alaska, Canada, and Russia as well as 2 trips to South Africa. Ultimately his favorite times were hunting and fishing with his grandsons, son, close friends and family.
Remaining to celebrate Ronnie’s life are his dear mother Peggy, his loving wife Nancy Pierce Harvey, his son Bryan Harvey (Andrea), his daughter Stacey McLaughlin (Tom), Step-daughters, Samantha Osborne, and Shannon Harvey (Tom). He is also survived by his brothers Frank Harvey and Tom Harvey; Grandchildren Wyatt, Owen and Brody Harvey, Sam McLaughlin; Step-Grandsons, Ethan, Spencer and Conner; Great Granddaughter Kinsley, and nephews, Frankie, Trent and Logan Harvey, Great nephew Chance.
Last but not least, he was predeceased by his beloved sidekick, Angus.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 2:00pm. A visitation will be held two hours prior from 12:00pm-2:00pm at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 4401 Westover Drive in Danville, Virginia. The service will be officiated by Pastors Bob Yeaman and Charles Swanson.
