Ronald Ray Clemens

April 1, 1950 - March 9, 2024

RONALD RAY CLEMENS, 73, of Bland, VA, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024. He was born April 1, 1950 in Bluefield, WV, the son of the late Robert, Sr. & Virginia Clemens.

Ronnie was a member of the Hollybrook Church of Christ. He took his walk with the Lord very seriously and he knew he was ready to go to his Heavenly home.

He was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Joy Mining Machinery after 40+ years of service.

Ronnie enjoyed tinkering and being outdoors. He was an avid believer in keeping his vehicles clean and strived to keep up with their maintenance.

Ronnie was just Ronnie. He was a down to Earth and honest person. He, at times, was blunt and matter of fact, but you knew where you stood. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Gordon, Sr. & Virginia Louise Taylor Clemens and his brother, James Douglas Clemens, all of which he lost in a tragic car accident.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 55 years, Barbara Jean Stinson Clemens; his daughter, Holly Clemens, his grandchildren, Dale Reeley and Jenny Reeley; his brother, Robert Gordon Clemens, Jr.; his sister-in-law, Pat Johnson; special niece, Serena Walser; special nephew, Kevin Johnson; special great-nephew, Campbell Johnson and his special pet companion, “Baby.”

Per his wishes, Ronnie has been cremated. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, with Pastor Josh May officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. until service time, 2:00 P.M.
