Ronald Raymond Vance

Ronald Raymond Vance, Sr. age 77 of Roanoke, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024. He was born December 12, 1946 in Portsmouth, VA to the late John David Vance and Martha Florence Vance. He was also preceded in death by his nephew, John Todd Vance.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Eva Takacs Vance; son, Ronald Raymond Vance, Jr. (Julia); daughter, Amy Vance DeLong (Matthew); grandchildren, Abbie, Maggie, Gertie and Katie Vance & Thomas, Rose and George DeLong; brothers, John Vance, Jr. (Debbie) and Donald Vance; brother-in-law, Lt. Colonel Frank Takacs, Jr. - Retired (Carla); nephews, Kevin Vance, Chris Takacs and Alex Takacs.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 15, 2024 from 9:00 to 10:30 am at Oakey’s North Chapel, 6732 Peters Creek Rd., Roanoke, VA 24019. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 am at Sherwood Memorial Park with Chaplain Bobby Pickle officiating.
