Ronald "Ronnie" Lee King

May 24, 1951 - June 20, 2025

Ronald “Ronnie” Lee King, 74, of Monroe passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones. He was the son of the late Edward Lee King and Mabel Marie King.

Born on May 24, 1951 Ronnie was a man who understood the true value of working with his hands, whether it was fixing, creating, or simply lending a helping hand. As a mechanic for many years, he took pride in caring for not just the things, but also the people around him. Hardworking by nature, Ronnie could often be found outside chopping wood, always looking out for his family.

He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and cherished any chance to visit his hometown of Asheville, North Carolina. No matter where his travels took him, though, his favorite spot for a good meal was always Clarence’s Restaurant in Tennessee. At home, Ronnie enjoyed the comfort of classic western shows and movies, with Gunsmoke holding a special place in his heart.

Ronnie was a proud and long-term member of the Sons of the Confederacy social club, where he found good people and friends. Above all, he was a devoted family man who shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Princess. Ronnie’s warmth, dedication, and kind spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents Ronnie was preceded in passing by his sister Kathy King Coleman.

Those left to cherish Ronnie’s memory include his loving wife Ann King; his son Daniel Lee King and his wife Amanda; his grandson Bradley Lee King; and many more cousins and close friends.

A celebration of life service for Ronnie will be held on Monday, June 23, 2025 at 10am at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Monroe, with Pastor Peyton Fitzgerald officiating with interment to follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
