Ronnie Henderson of Appomattox, Virginia
November 15, 1950 - January 11, 2024

Ronnie Edward Henderson, 73, of Appomattox, died Thursday, January 11, 2024, at his residence. He was the loving husband of Rebecca Jean “Becky” Book Henderson for 49 years and a devoted father to his special children, Bryan and Megan Henderson. Ronnie was always there for his family, and he will be greatly missed.

He is also survived by one brother, Robert “Bobby” Henderson and wife, Sally; two sisters, Sandra Woodson and husband, Richard and Donna Maria Henderson; brother-in-law, Rick Book and wife, Susan; sisters-in-law, Trish Book Knoche and husband, Howard and Tammy Book Stanley and husband, Donald; six nieces, Sheila, Mary Grace, Michele, Heather, Lindsay and Nikki; seven nephews, Ryan, Taylor, Sean, Brent, Scottie, Brandon and Blake; 24 great-nieces and nephews; and eight great-great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his niece, Kristi Stanley.

Born in Lynchburg, Va., on November 15, 1950, he was a son of the late Frances Louise Ragland Henderson and Owen Aubrey Henderson. Ronnie was a member of Memorial Methodist Church and retired from BWXT with 42 years of service.  He will be remembered for always making his family and friends laugh. Ronnie enjoyed Nascar, Redskins (Commanders), Kansas City Chiefs, Harley Davidson motorcycles and red mustangs, but his favorite hobby was using his chain saw and cutting trees for firewood.   

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Mark Allen officiating.  

The family will receive friends following the service at Memorial Methodist Church Legacy Hall and other times at the residence.
