Ronnie James Terry

Ronnie James Terry, Sr., 71, transitioned to eternal rest on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born January 19, 1953, in Franklin County, Virginia to the son of James Otis Terry and Fannie J. (Reynolds) Easterling, who both proceeded him in death. Ronnie graduated from Franklin County High School, class of 1971. After attending college he was employed at Ronile, in Rocky Mount, VA where he would eventually retire after 35+ years of service. He was an avid bowler who would frequent Rocky Mount Bowling Center, Sportslanes in Martinsville, Va, and Lee Hi Lanes and AMF Hilltop Lanes in Roanoke, Va. Ronnie is survived by his two devoted sons from his union with Hattie B. (Tolliver) Hudson; Ronnie James Terry, Jr. and his wife Julie of Penhook, VA and Dwayne Terry and his wife Gorette of Fayetteville NC; five grandchildren, Becky and Audria France, Mitchell Helbock, Parthenia Caldwell, and Ziva Terry; 2 great grandchildren Jax and Jalyn Oneal, and three sisters, Brenda S. Terry, Hyattsville Md; Debra L. Stockton (Robert), Penhook, VA; Shirley M. Terry, District Heights, MD; one brother, Henry Wilson (Monique), Mount Vernon, NY. Nieces, Cindy Terry, LaRhonda Woodson, Celeste Holland, and Sonja Terry; and nephews Tensly Simpson Jr, Chris Holland, Ricky, Marcus, and Malcolm Wilson; a host of friends and relatives. His family will receive friends at 2589 Ramsey Memorial Road, Penhook, Virginia 24137 this week for those wishing to pay their respects.
