Rosalee "Dale" Hopkins

August 19, 1949 - April 25, 2025

Rosalee “Dale” Hopkins, 75, of Ridgeway, Virginia, passed away Friday, April 25, 2025. She was born August 19, 1949, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Richard Green Hopkins, Jr. and Virginia Hazel Janey Hopkins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard “Dicky” Green Hopkins, III.

Dale was a hardworking and dedicated employee in the textile industry, where she worked in quality control for both Pannill Knitting Company and Sara Lee for more than thirty years. She was of the Christian faith and attended Fieldale-Collinsville High School during her youth. A proud member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Dale had a vibrant spirit and a passion for life. She had a great love for flowers and possessed a true green thumb, bringing beauty and life wherever she went. She also had a deep affection for animals of all kinds. However, one of her greatest joys was singing karaoke, where her heavenly voice could truly shine. Dale loved her family fiercely and genuinely, and she was known for speaking her mind, never sugarcoating her thoughts or opinions – her fiery spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Despite the many trials she faced in life, she carried herself with strength, dignity, and grace. She never allowed her struggles to overshadow her heart of gold.

She is survived by her daughter, Rosa Lee Brown (James); sisters, Brenda Clark, Betty Harris (Joel) and Marie Flanagan (Ray); sister-in-law, Melinda Hopkins; grandchildren, Amanda Mason, Jamie Sigman, James Brown, Jr., and Reggie Brown; twenty great-grandchildren; special companions; Gipsy and Baby Girl; and caretaker, Lisa Wike; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
