Roy H.V. Whorley

Roy H.V. Whorley, age 72, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born to the late Harry Whorley and Zula May Boyd, Roy lived a life defined by his love for family, his kind spirit, and his appreciation for the simple joys in life. He was preceded in death by his brother, Coy Garfield Whorley, and his sister, Geraldine Joyce.

Roy leaves behind a family who will forever cherish his memory, including his devoted wife of 49 years, Vickie Goad Whorley; his sons, Harry Whorley, Roger Whorley, Travis Whorley, and Elijah Goad; and his daughters, Linda Delong and Kimberly Whorley. He was a proud grandfather to Sabrina Delong, Don Jr. Delong, Harrison Whorley, and Maverick Whorley, who brought great joy to his life.

He is also survived by his loving sisters, Darlene Solomon, Irene Whisanat, Lovelene Martin, Jolene Cheshire, and Lorene Pigg, as well as a special family member, Roger Boyd, and numerous extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Roy had a passion for old cars and enjoyed spending time admiring classic vehicles. He treasured every moment spent with his family and friends and was happiest when surrounded by those he loved. Roy also had a deep love for music and could often be found playing his guitar, sharing songs and creating memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Roy will be remembered for his warm heart, his love of family, and the many smiles he brought to those around him. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories will remain with all who were fortunate enough to know him.
